Taking a look at past performances it’s perhaps not that surprising that a Charleston topped the judges’ scores in Movie Week.
Overall it’s one of the higher scoring dances on Strictly with full marks awarded on 11 occasions (only topped by Showdances in Final Week) and its quirkiness aligns perfectly with the zaniness of Movie Week’s highly creative, stylised productions. Remember Kellie and Kevin’s lightsabers from their Star Wars-themed Charleston in Series 13 (2015)?
Although Charleston’s often a high-scoring dance, this takes nothing away from Tyler and Diane’s achievement which was a fast and funny performance, jam-packed with content and danced with beaming smiles and brilliant physicality. They now deservedly share the top-score spot for a Week 3 Charleston with Kelvin and Oti’s Mary Poppins Returns routine from Series 17 (2019).
Anyone a bit disappointed like me not to see a Paso Doble performed for this year’s Movie Week – particularly as the statistics show that it’s the Paso which has achieved the best Movie-themed scores to date?

I used your site yesterday to see what week 3 top score was by 4 judges (John and Johannes!) so well done, this site helps with those sort of questions.
Thanks. We are looking at introducing individual judge scores soon too – so you could look at all the times Craig has awarded a 1 or a 10 for example. Glad it’s useful.
Individual judges scores can now be filtered. Select the Judge you want (under Judges) and then set the “Judges individual score” slider to the value you want.
Brill – only Craig and Arlene have ever scored 1s by the looks of it!!!
