  • Ballroom meets broadsheet: A sign of The Times

We were totally chuffed this week when Data Journalist George Willoughby got in touch about the website. He said he’d really enjoyed surfing around the statistics section and was keen to write an article for The Times about the history of the show, trends in the dance data and what these might suggest.

Liv worked with George exploring a number of topics from toughest dances to whether or not marking was getting more lenient.  James generously helped Liv with ‘fact checking’ and today we were delighted to hear that the article had been published on the homepage on The Times Online.

Whilst The Times is a pay to view paper, George has shared a temporary free link to his article for us to share with Strictly fans.

So here it is: Strictly by numbers: how to dance your way into the final

We hope you enjoy it. Anyone who likes a ‘Strictly Stat’ will likely enjoy the analysis, graphs and charts.

PS Apparently it’ll also be in the printed edition tomorrow (Saturday 20 September)!!

Quite cool to see this little website feature in a major publication like that.
