2011 - Series 9 facts and stats
- Series 9 is the only one in which a pro has danced with 3 different celebrity partners; Brendan was partnered with Lulu and they were eliminated in Week 6. In Week 7 he stood in for an injured Artem and danced a Rumba with Holly Valance; 2 weeks later in Week 9 he partnered Anita Dobson due to Robin’s injury. They danced a Cha Cha Cha and in the Swing-a-thon but were eliminated, making Brendan the only pro eliminated twice in one Series
- In Series 8 and 9 the dance-off (introduced in S5) was dropped; the couple placed lowest on the combined leaderboard of judges’ scores and public vote was eliminated each week
- Jennifer Grey, who had won America’s Dancing With The Stars in 2010, stood in for Len as a guest judge in W6. The highest score she awarded was 9 to Chelsee & Pasha for their Charleston
- Winner Harry Judd was awarded 25 tens overall, ten of which were given by Alesha. This was the most tens to one couple from any judge in S9
- Blackpool in Week 8 was replaced by a “Best of Britain” show from Wembley Arena; this included music from some iconic British artists such as Elton John, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Wham! and The Spice Girls
- In the Semi-Final, Chelsee & Pasha dance the first ever perfect Paso Doble, the single 40 their partnership received, to ‘Malaguena’; it will be 10 years before another perfect Paso is performed by John & Johannes in the S19 Final
- For the second and last time, the Final show came live from Blackpool
