2013 - Series 11 facts and stats
- 5 pros joined in S11 (Iveta, Anya, Janette, Kevin & Aljaž) and 2 of these (Kevin and Aljaž) made the final with Aljaž becoming the fourth male pro to win on his debut series
- The first perfect Salsa danced by a female celebrity was performed in Musicals Week (W10) by Abbey & Aljaž, to ‘You Should be Dancing’ by The Bee Gees from Saturday Night Fever. 2 weeks later, Natalie & Artem perform another perfect Salsa routine to Michael Jackson’s ‘Wanna Be Startin’ Something’
- The show was broadcast live from Blackpool in Week 8, with a particularly memorable Paso Doble from Susanna & Kevin; Blackpool becomes a regular Week 8 or 9 fixture from now, with the exception of S18 and 19 during Covid restrictions
- In his first Series, Kevin makes the Final with Susanna; he will repeat this achievement for the next 3 Series straight with Frankie, Kellie and Louise but he will have to wait until his fifth Final with Stacey in 2016 before lifting the glitterball. No other pro has reached four Finals on the trot or five in total
- In a one-off format change Love Week replaces the previous Hollywood Week in week 3, with couples all performing Love-themed routines
