With Series 20 behind us, the Strictly world packs away its glittery decorations for another year. So to help plug that mirrorball shaped hole in our lives just a little bit, we’ve decided to share monthly round-ups of Strictly related news and rumours in the media.

To date Christmas Special Professionals have consisted of those that suffered an early elimination in that year’s Series or (even worse) hadn’t been partnered with a celebrity at all. Here we look back at previous Specials, to see whether a Christmas appearance led to bigger and better things the following year.
